The Dodge Demon is the fastest 0-60 production car in the world
Meet the newest monster from SRT that has a faster 0-60 time than a Bugatti Chiron.
After a multitude of teasers, Dodge has revealed the SRT Demon, a street-legal, drag strip-ready super muscle car that can achieve a 0-60 time of 2.3 seconds. That’s faster than the current iteration of the $2.9 million dollar Bugatti Chiron. The Demon also claims the highest g-force of any car at 1.8 g and is the world’s fastest quarter-mile production car with a time of 9.65 seconds at 140 mph.
All this power comes from a supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI Demon V-8 that produces 840-hp and 770 lb-ft of torque. While this is the same motor from the Hellcat, Dodge made a number of changes and upgrades that include a larger 2.7 liter supercharger, 14.5 psi of boost, a higher 6,500 rpm limit, dual stage fuel pumps, and a larger induction air box.
Other features include an SRT Power Chiller that diverts the air-conditioning refrigerant into a chiller unit to help lower the air intake temperature and it’s also the first street-legal production car that is able to use 100+ unleaded high-octane fuel.
Production of the new Dodge Demon begins later this year.
