Beyoncé Announces Formation Scholars Program for Young Women in the Arts | V Magazine
Four lucky recipients have the chance to become #FormationScholars.
It’s been one year since Beyoncé released her epic long-form visual album Lemonade—a Grammy Award-winning project that raised the bar for artists everywhere, and determined the course of cultural conversation in the time that followed. To celebrate its first anniversary, Queen B has announced a new scholarship for young women studying the creative arts, literature, music, or African-American studies. The four “Formation Scholars” awards will be available for the 2017-2018 academic year (one per college) at Berklee College of Music, Howard University, Parsons School of Design, and Spelman College. According to the release statement, the scholarships are meant to “encourage and support young women who are unafraid to think outside the box and are bold, creative, conscious and confident.” Read the full statement below via Beyoncé’s website.
