@nrad257: YUGH, all over Rochester. Suburbs to the city and back to the burbs.

@nrad257: Making me think. I went to West Irondequoit. Middle school at Monroe, and elementary school at Helendale.
@roctownlive: When did you start modeling (if applicable)?
@nrad257: I started last January with my bro Dave in the dead middle of a snowstorm. We pulled up to my high school and just starting shooting. After that, I just posted the photos, as anyone would, and it got a lot of traction. People suggested to me I could model. I sat back and thought, I’ve always been kinda fashion forward/trendy hahaha and handsome, so I said why not.

@nrad257: Great question…. hmm it became a major key to me because I want to be involved in the whole creative process not just looking dope in the products. #YEEZYTAUGHTME
@roctownlive: What’s the first package you got in the mail or most memorable?
@nrad257: I’ve gotten thousands of dollars in packages so it’s hard to remember the first one. But my first shoot was with El Captain Ryan Martin the creator of The Ryan Martin Collection. He actually gave me my first pieces and what a blessing that was because the kid is one of the hardest working and creative/fashion forward people I’ve ever met. So that’s definitely the 1st “package” I received.
The most memorable definitely is the package I received from Dee Murthy the creator of Five Four/Young and Reckless/New Republican. Dee BLESSED me with a power pack from Los Angeles. When I received that box with $900 worth of product from LA, I knew I could turn this into something more.
@roctownlive: What do you see in your future as far as goals or plans with fashion culture?
@nrad257: Future Goals?! Sheesh, where do I begin? Well, short-term goals are to branch out with as many brands as I can across the 50 states. Currently, I’m in 18 states and have done work with 51 brands as of today.
Long-term goals are to move to California and be involved in the fashion culture in whatever sense that may be. Modeling, designing, photography, videography, or a stylist. So I’d say basically just creating and expressing myself through whatever facet that is. Then after I become established, come back to Rochester and give classes on modeling, photography, styling, and just creating. It’s a lot of talented individuals in Rochester they just don’t know how to fly from the bird’s nest sometimes. Also being in a feature film or on a billboard in NYC and/or LA and lastly walk in the NYFW, LAFW. Fly or Die big bro FLY OR DIE.

A fatality. Society is plagued with violence and some are misguided. We pray for a sign and visions from God but the masses are lost. Insanity is blamed for misgivings and ill decisions. Society stole my soul. I was robbed of my youth, my family did not tell me the truth. In a rage, he took his life over a crack pipe. The mind is delusional. The archangel has tormented souls. How can you have everything on earth and not want to grow old? Faith is lost. Are we still fighting for a cause? Soldiers of faith but the mental is cracked. Am I going to be sent to hell because I took my life? I still prayed and got baptized with Christ.
Mental illnesses are pressing the masses. My mind cracked. I was chasing lust. Benjamin set me back, I want my life back!! Healing faith, debating knowledge and power, some have lost the willpower, he was in his last hour. Father, please forgive me for my decision. I followed your word but my eyes got blurred. I saw but still sinned. My guidance counselor told me my soul was blowing in the wind! I want my life back. I looked at Matthew, Revelations, and John. I wanted to see who created me but I was selfish and took my life. I blame mental illness but the devil crept into my mind and blinded my sight to fight. I want my life back.
Stages of life. I started off as a sperm cell and mated with the fallopian tubes. No mentally illness detected. I was sent by God to give the people a message. Love and stay away from sin. Don’t listen to false prophets, they will lead you to destruction. If you take your life you know the repercussions. God have mercy on the spiritually lost for they no not what they do. Devil I rebuke you. Call it what it is. Sin!!
Shunned from life. How do I maintain? It’s hard to sustain. He fell off the path. He was agnostic and did not believe in the power of Christ, only blind ambitions. Greed and lust had hindered his spiritual growth. How do you take the life that God gave you? It’s a blessing and a curse. Pray for spiritual healing and ask God to bless your steps. Death before a spiritual rebirth is a cause not to walk with God. Praise and ask God in his Holy name to free you from sin, Everlasting life will cause all pain to end!!!!
Notoriously difficult to define, even by those who wear it. Street fashion, since the 80’s, has been an emerging and upcoming trend amongst youth culture, influencers, creatives, and artists. This grassroots fashion movement is inspired by what is happening on the streets and is constantly evolving. From Dapper Dan who inspired the trends back in the 80’s to today’s brands like Stussy, Supreme, and A Bathing Ape, street fashion has been taking over the industry. Street fashion encompasses streetwear, hip-hop fashion, and Japanese street fashion, inspired by the DIY aesthetic of punk, new wave, heavy metal, and later hip-hop cultures. Cities that inspire street fashion include New York, California, London, Milan, and Toyko.
Streetwear was heavily influenced by California surfers and skaters, usually including causal, comfortable pieces like jeans, t-shirts, baseball caps, and sneakers. Shawn Stussy created this modern expression by combining a t-shirt lifestyle brand with the limited feel of a high-end luxury brand. The integral components of a streetwear brand are T-shirts and exclusivity.
“Hip-hop was the genre of music where it was accepted, promoted, and preferred that the artist looked like the fan.” – Frank The Butcher. High-end brands like Tommy Hilfiger, Louis Vuitton, and Gucci traditionally did not market to minorities but the integration of hip-hop artists in these brands provided a bridge to the gap.
People were able to live vicariously through their favorite artist by owning a luxury piece. This fashion began with Dapper Dan creating pieces in Harlem to bring high-end fashion to the hood to supply rappers and influencers with unique pieces to showcase. His work integrated high end and affordable pieces, also bootleg pieces.
Now artists like Ava Nirui and Virgil Abloh are using their creativity to redesign clothing from high-end designers into new pieces. Music artists and rappers began signing with high-end labels and brands to inspire their popularity and began to influence the fashion industry as well. Hip-hop artists are now becoming the biggest commercial influencers of our generation.
Japanese street fashion is heavily influenced by Yamamoto and Kawakubo, and brands like BAPE. The style is heavily focused on mixing patterns and using fashion as an art.
Contemporary sportswear fashion mixes formal and active styles together to create a comfortable and trendy look. Common items are hoodies, jackets, track pants, leggings, and sneakers. The 1990’s hip-hop fashion also is incorporated with elements like bomber jackets and dad hats. Nike also has a huge influence on the street fashion scene with shoes, activewear, and tech pieces. Luxury and minimalism are the key components of sportswear street fashion.
What pieces create a street fashion look?
Layers are everything in street fashion. Basics are skinny jeans or tight pattern pants, graphic t-shirts, patterns like checkers and plaid are in, and any coordinating sneaker or boot.
For accessories, jewelry such as chains, watches, rings, and earrings are statements. Sunglasses and hats are also necessary to complete a look. Street fashion is basically comprised however you can coordinate colors and patterns into a new and unique look. Street fashion breaks the traditional ideas of couture fashion and high end fashion and redefines it into grungy, urban, and one of a kind looks. Street fashion is creating your own form of art through personalized pieces and looks that you put together.
