Proceeds from Dior’s “We Should All Be Feminists” Shirt Go to Rihanna’s Charity | V Magazine
The $710 t-shirt may come with a hefty price tag, but comes with a nice bonus of humanitarianism.
The Spring 2017 Dior show was one of the most talked about of the season as it showcased the launch of Dior’s “We Should All Be Feminists” t-shirt—and, of course, heralded the debut of Maria Grazia Chiuri as creative director. Now, Dior has declared that a percentage of the proceeds from the shirt will benefit the Clara Lionel Foundation (named after Rihanna’s grandparents), to help the foundation in their mission to aid in education and health rights. The “We Should All Be Feminists” shirt was inspired by well-known novelist and feminist, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s TEDx Talk with the same title.
Rihanna has held an annual Diamond Ball fundraiser every year and launched scholarship programs since the non-profit organization’s inception in 2012. This news also comes just after Rihanna was named “Humanitarian of The Year” by the Harvard Foundation.
