They supposedly already leaked episodes from the upcoming 5th season of ‘Orange is the New Black.’
In a more wild piece of news, someone that goes by the name TheDarkOverlord claims to have hacked Netflix and several other network studios and threatens to leak upcoming series if their ransom request is not met. Yes, you read that correctly—it’s 2017 and someone has kidnapped television shows and is holding them for ransom.
Following a security breach at post-production audio company Larson Studios, this mysterious entity has reportedly already leaked ten episodes from the forthcoming season of Orange is the New Black last weekend via an illegal file sharing website. In response to the breach, Netflix released an official statement stating, “We are aware of the situation. A production vendor used by several major TV studios had its security compromised and the appropriate law enforcement authorities are involved.”
The hacker also claims to have gathered dozens of other network shows, including New Girl, Portlandia, and NCIS Los Angeles. Following the leak, TheDarkOverlord tweeted:
Who is next on the list? FOX, IFC, NAT GEO, and ABC. Oh, what fun we're all going to have. We're not playing any games anymore.

The sum(s) which the hacker has requested from Netflix and other networks remains undisclosed, however, only eleven hours ago TheDarkOverlord ominously tweeted, “It’s nearly time to play another round.”
